ML: AC Milan want Atalanta striker as back-up for Ibra
AC Milan and Atalanta could be back in business in January with the Rossoneri is search of back-up for Ibrahimovic.
In recent seasons AC Milan and Atalanta have done business together on several occasions. The Rossoneri have signed Franck Kessie, Andrea Conti and Simon Kjaer from Atalanta while a couple of young players, plus Matteo Caldara, have joined the Bergamo club.
The two teams are still bound by Matteo Pessina with the Italian midfielder being owned by both clubs at 50%. Papu Gomez and now Sam Lammers are the latest names that can switch teams.
Lammers joined Atalanta this summer from PSV Eindhoven for a figure of 9 million euros. The 23-year-old centre forward has yet to break into the starting eleven but has done well on every occasion given.
According to MilanLive.it, Lammers is even more likely to join AC Milan than Papu Gomez or Ilicic. The Rossoneri will try to sign a new striker as Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s back-up and the Atalanta player is on the list of targets.
Sam Lammers made his breakthrough in 2018/19 while playing on loan for Heerenveen. He scored 19 goals that season and provided 5 assists before returning to PSV.
